Cancelling and refunds
Last updated 21 September 2026
The quickest way
Go to Settings, then Subscription, and choose Cancel subscription. That is two clicks and there is nobody to talk to first. You will get an email confirming it.
Your access carries on until the end of the month you have already paid for. Nothing is deleted when you cancel: your case and documents stay until you ask us to delete them or you delete your account.
The 14-day refund
If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, we refund that payment in full. Automatically, to the card you paid with, usually within [TBD: refund settlement days] working days once Stripe has processed it. You do not need to give a reason and you do not need to ask.
This is your right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. When you signed up you asked us to start the service straight away, which is why you could use it during those 14 days. We refund the payment in full anyway.
After the first 14 days, cancelling stops the next payment. We do not refund part of a month that has already started, and your access runs to the end of it.
A McKenzie friend session
A booked session can be moved or cancelled up to 24 hours before it starts, for a full refund. Inside 24 hours we cannot refund it, because the time was held for you. If something urgent has happened, write to support@familycourt.app and we will look at it.
If you would rather write to us
You do not have to use any particular form of words. An email to support@familycourt.app saying you want to cancel is enough, and we will confirm it. If you would rather use the standard form, it is below.
Model cancellation form
This is the form set out in the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Complete and return it only if you wish to withdraw from the contract.
If something has gone wrong
Tell us at support@familycourt.app. We acknowledge complaints within two working days and answer within ten. The full terms are at terms of use.
